Since moving into your Cara home, your circumstances may have changed and you may be ready to move on. Cara may be able to help you with a move to another of its own properties or to one belonging to another housing provider or local council. You may also get the opportunity to own a home of your own.
Cara tenants who wish to move to another Cara property can apply to go on our transfer waiting list. You will have to fill in an application form and meet our allocations criteria. We deal with applications in order of greatest need.
A mutual exchange allows you to swap with any housing association or council tenant. You need to apply through the Homeswap scheme and we would ask for references for the person you are swapping with, if they are not a Cara tenant.
Our lettings officer will be happy to visit your home to inspect it and advise you about the standard we would expect your home to be in.
The choice-based lettings scheme has been set up to let Cara tenants apply for vacant properties. Your support worker will be able to guide you through the scheme in your borough.
