Membership of Cara

As an ordinary member of Cara you will have the right to vote at our Annual General Meeting (AGM). You can be nominated for independent Board member vacancies. This will involve an open recruitment and interview process. You will be kept up to date with our work and invited to relevant events.

We want members who are interested in what we do and represent the communities we work in. We particularly welcome applications for membership from:

  1. individuals who have an interest in housing and support services and in the aims and objectives of Cara
  2. individuals who represent organisations working on behalf of the Irish community and other minority communities in Britain (particularly in the areas where we currently work).

Staff may not become members until two years after leaving our employment.

Tenants are automatically members of Cara.

Applying for membership

If you would like to apply for membership, please contact the Chief Executive at our Head Office or click here.

Applications must include a statement explaining why you wish to become a member. We would only refuse an application for good reason. If the Board refuses your application for membership, it will write to tell you why.
