Getting involved

Tenants and service users

Cara is committed to making sure our tenants and service users are at the centre of our decision making, as stated in our Tenant and Service User Involvement Strategy.

You can get involved in various ways. For some people, keeping up to date with what is happening in Cara is enough. We consult you and keep you informed in a range of ways:

  • Cara News, our regular newsletter
  • Inform, our service bulletin highlighting changes to service delivery or policy
  • house meetings
  • one-to-one meetings with staff
  • annual conference for tenants and service users.

Some tenants and service users will want to become more involved and influence decisions that affect their homes and services. So you can:

  • become a member of the Tenant and Service User Consultative Group
  • become a tenant Board member.

We rely on tenant feedback to ensure that our services continually improve and reflect current needs.

In the community

We want members who are interested in what we do and represent the communities we work in. Applications for membership are particularly welcome from:

  1. people who have an interest in housing and support services and in the aims and objectives of Cara
  2. people who represent organisations working on behalf of the Irish community and other minorities in Britain (particularly in the areas where we currently work).
